Bushman Heavy Duty Series 12V Fridges - Australia’s best camping & caravan fridges are now even better.

From 1st January 2026, the Bushman HD series of 12V compressor fridges is a new, upgraded line of 12V portable, upright and drawer fridges.

Everything we have learned in the last 40 years, is built into the new models. All of our Heavy Duty Series fridges carry the Bushman HD brand.

As the outdoor adventure and camping world has evolved in Australia, from simple tent camping and caravans, to more comprehensive touring vehicles and 4WD setups, we have evolved our fridges to better meet our customers’ needs.

The biggest upgrade at the heart of all Bushman Heavy Duty series fridges is an upgraded compressor.

Smaller fridges all use the new Secop Danfoss Heavy Duty Series compressor, while our largest fridges utilise a Secop Danfoss BDK High Capacity compressor for better long term performance and reliability, even in the hardest conditions.

Bushman is the first and only company in Australia to utilise this specialised compressor, which is designed and built by industry leader Danfoss to even better handle extreme vibrations over an extended period of time, so you can travel further and in rougher conditions with peace of mind.

We exclusively use wire on tube heat exchangers (condenser) on every Bushman fridge.

These heat exchangers are better suited to Australian conditions than other radiator style units, as dust and fluff does not build up on the tubular components over time. Resulting in better long term cooling.

From 2026, all our heat exchangers are double powder coated for even better rust proofing.

Bushman exclusively uses 100% copper for the internal refrigeration system in DF30-HD, DF40-HD, DC190L-X and DC225L-X for the best long term reliability.

Our largest fridges have over 15 metres of copper piping inside.

Most companies use a mix of aluminium and copper, which creates potential failure points inside the fridge and can lead to internal leaks.

We use simple electronics with a maximum of one pcb per fridge for the best long-term reliability and trouble-free operation on the road.

Features can be great (bluetooth, wifi etc), but features can also equal failure.

Our customers just want fridges that work, with less failure points, so we keep it simple.

For a boost in efficiency and more even cooling, all our medium and large size upright fridges (85L +) come with an internal fan to assist cold air flow inside the fridge.

This provides the best OEM interior fan solution for our customers in the most extreme heat and for difficult installations.

Further upgrades to all HD series fridges include more robust construction and the exclusive use of threaded bolts and nut inserts to replace many existing sheet metal screw points, for a fridge that can really go the distance and stand up to its “Heavy Duty” name.

Improved styling and finish adds a cleaner, more modern touch.

All DC-X and DC-L Series fridges now have even more mounting options as standard.

The Bushman mounting kit fascia is still included with every upright fridge.

Captive Nuts

Captive nuts with dacromet coated bolts are factory fitted on the top and bottom edge of both sides of the fridge cabinet. Ready for use with any custom brackets or mounting points for your cavity.

Internal Mounting Sleeves

New for 2026, internal mounting sleeves. You can now safely drill from inside the fridge, out into your cabinetwork.
