We recommend around a 150Ah deep cycle (AGM) or 80Ah lithium battery when using the Bushman DF40-HD as a fridge. When using the Bushman DF40-HD as a freezer, we recommend a 300Ah deep cycle (AGM) or 240Ah lithium battery This will run the Bushman DF40-HD for at least 4 days and 3 nights in around 30˚C ambient.
The Bushman DF40-HD needs approximately 250W of solar paired to run as a fridge, or 300w of solar to run as a freezer. More detailed info here

Yes, you can operate the Bushman DF40-HD on 240V power by using a 240V to 12V transformer, however, most of our customers choose to run their fridge from their battery bank all the time. When they have access to 240V power they plug in their battery charger to maintain their batteries.
