How the thermostat works
Your upright Bushman fridge has a manual thermostat with a dial from 1 to 7. In theory 1 is the warmest, 7 is the coldest, and number 4 is right in the middle. We always recommend using the lowest number required as this provides the best cycle times, least power consumption and least amount of ice buildup.
How to set the thermostat when you turn on the fridge
- When you first start up your fridge, set the thermostat to 2. Wait 24 hours for the fridge to equalise.
- After 24 hours, if your drinks are not quite cold enough, turn the thermostat up one notch at a time.
- Repeat every 24 hours until you find the best setting for your setup.
Every installation is different, so you will need to find the number that works best for you. Just remember, to always aim for the lowest number possible, and don’t go above 6! If you need to set your fridge at 7 to stay cold, that’s a sure sign something is not setup correctly. Please check the relevant quick setup guide, owners manual, or these How To Guides for assistance.
