How to pack your Bushman upright fridge for efficiency

Your upright Bushman fridge works by harnessing natural heat convection. This just means the cooling element (evaporator) is always at the top, and the cold air falls down through your fridge. To help your fridge work as efficiently as possible, there are a few things you can do.

How to pack your Bushman’s upright fridge for maximum efficiency

• Leave some space between items, especially on the top shelf, so the cold air can fall through and doesn’t get trapped up top.
• Put the most solid items on the bottom, like packets of meat, plastic tubs, fruit and veges. Storing these solid items at the top of your fridge can block the cold air from circulating throughout the fridge, leading to pockets that are too hot or too cold.
• Keep the items you want the coldest up the top near the cooling element for maximum cooling.
